Steamed Rice and Bean Cakes


Steamed Rice and Bean Cakes:
Preparation Time : 40 min
Cooking Time : 30 min
Yield : 3 to 4

Ingredients :
Rice rava(coarse)- 2 cups
Surti papdi lilva - 1 cup
Green chilli paste - 2tblspn
Green onions - 1/2 cup chopped
Coriander leaves- 1/2 cup chopped
Salt - to taste
Vegetable oil-1/2 cup
Water - 1 cup

Directions:
Take a pot and bring it to boil the water,when water is boiling add lilva beans and cook about 10 minutes and drain out immediately.Now take a big mixing bowl add rice ravva ,cooked beans,chopped green onions,coriander leaves and mix it until well combined.Boil 1 cup of water, add salt , chilli paste and get it boil for 1 minute.Now pour chilli water mixture into rice ravva mixture and make a soft dough.If you need some more water you can add.Now make dough into small circle shape cakes and put aside.Steam the cakes in idly cooker or any steamer.Cook with medium low about 30 minutes or until test with toothpick comes out clean.Tasty Rice cakes are ready. Dip with room temperature vegetable oil.
Note: To prepare rice ravva, wash rice and drain water completely till it becomes dry.Then grind the rice to coarse powder.
Surti papdi lilva: These kind of beans you can find in any Indian grocery store at freezer section,but in India you can find fresh beans easily.
