Horse gram Soup (Ulava Charu)


Horse Gram Soup (Ulava charu)
Preparation Time :  min
Cooking Time : 45 min
Yield : 6 to 8 people
Ingredients :
Horse gram (Ulavalu) - 1cup
Tamarind juice - 1 cup or (thick paste 2 tblspn)
Tomatoes - 2 chopped
Onion - 1 medium chopped
Green chillis - 4 to 5 chopped
Red chilli - 2 chillis
Curry leaves - 4 to 5
Oil - 2 tblspn
Mustard seeds - 1tspn
Cumin seeds - 1 tspn
Salt -According to taste
Directions:
First,soak the horse gram in a water for about 12 hours.Next,cook them in pressure cooker about 5 whistles.When they are cool down grind it as a fine paste with adding some water.Then,strain it with a mesh strainer and the waste will be left in the strainer,throw the waste in the trash and keep the Horse gram paste.
Now heat oil in a sauce pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.When they are popping add chillis and onions and fry it about 2 minutes Next, add tomatoes and cook it about 2 minutes.
Then,add tamarind juice and cook it.
When the tamarind juice is boiling add horse gram paste and add curry leaves and salt in it.Let it boil about 30 minutes.
Check the soup how much consistency you want and switch off the flame.Garnish with cream or butter.Enjoy with hot rice.


Take all Ingredients
Soak in water 24 hours

Cook in Pressure cooker

Make a fine paste

Horse gram paste
Strain with mesh strainer 

 put waste in a trash


Add oil, mustard,cumin seeds


Add onions,chillis

Add tomatoes,little salt and turmeric powder

Add tamarind juice

Add horse gram paste,curry leaves

Add salt and let it boil 30 min

Check consistency

Done!

Spinach Masala Vada

                                    Spinach Masala Vada (Tikkilu) Recipe
Preparation Time : 30 min
Cooking Time :15 min
Yield : 4 to 6 people
Ingredients :
Chana Dal/Split Bengal Gram - 2 cups
Rice flour - 3 to 4 tblspn 
Spinach - 1 cup
Mint leaves - 2 tblspn chopped
Green onions or onions - 3 tblspn
Curry leaves - 7 to 8 chopped
Cumin seeds - 1 tblspn
Ginger - 1 tspn
Green chillis - 3 to 4
Salt - According to taste
Oil - For deep fry
Directions:
First soak the chana dal in water about 2 hours and drain it.Next grind the chana dal with green chillis,cumin seeds and ginger.Make them a coarse paste. Next add spinach into the chana dal mixture and add curry leaves,mint leaves,green onions and salt.Now add rice flour to make a soft dough.Next heat oil in a pan for deep fry. Then take a small lemon size dough and make into a round shaped like vada and put it into the oil.Fry it until golden brown color.
When they are fried remove from oil and put it on a paper towel. Garnish with chat masala.Enjoy!!

Soak Chana dal

Add ginger,Chillis,Cumin seeds

Make Coarse paste


Add spinach

Add mint ,curry leaves and salt

Mix well

Make a vada

Fry it on medium high

Done

Put on a paper towel

Sprinkle some Chat masala

Easy Tropical layered Smoothie


Layered Tropical Smoothie

Yield : 2 people
Ingredients :
Top layer:
Mango - 1 peeled and chopped
Yogurt/Curd - 1 cup
Sugar - 1tspn (Optional)
Down layer :
Strawberry - 3 
Banana - 1 medium
Yogurt/Curd - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1 tspn (optional)
Directions:
First wash the fruits and put it a side.Now peel the mango skin and chop it.Next take a blender and add yogurt,sugar and mango pieces and blend it.Now add some ice cubes and blend it again. Next pour the mango smoothie into the glasses and put it a side.
Now wash the blender and add strawberry,banana,yogurt,and sugar then, blend it again.Next add some ice cubes and blend it then pour slowly on top of the mango smoothie glass.Garnish with any fruit.Enjoy!

Spicy Rice Flour Pancake

    Spicy Rice Flour Pancake (Sarva pindi) :
Preparation Time : 10 min
Cooking Time : 30 min
Yield : 4 people
Ingredients :
Rice flour - 3 cups
Chana Dal -2 tblspn
Sesame seeds - 2 tblspn
Onions - 1 small chopped
Curry leaves - 4 chopped
Coriander leaves - 2 tblspn chopped
Chilli powder - 2 tspn
Garlic - 2 cloves 
Cumin seeds,Coriander seeds - each 1 tspn
Salt -According to taste
Oil - 1/2 cup
Water - enough to make dough
Directions:
First take garlic,cumin seeds and coriander seeds.Grind them as coarse paste and put a side.
Now take a big mixing bowl and add rice flour and all other ingredients and make a dough with water.
Next apply 1 tblspn oil to the pan and take lemon size dough and press it gently with touch of water.
Now add 2 to 3 tblspn water and cook it about 20 to 30 minutes on medium heat. Now the spicy rice flour pancake is ready.Enjoy for tea time snack.

Mix all dry ingredients

Make a Dough

Add oil in a pan

Spread the dough in the pan

Add water

Put the lid and cook

Still cooking

Done
